Some good news for Aeroplan members who like to order takeout with Uber Eats! Aeroplan and Uber Canada have now launched a new exciting partnership that allows members to earn Aeroplan points on Uber eats and rides.
Overall, it seems that Aeroplan and Uber are expanding their partnership which started in 2020. I’ve previously written about how you can get a Free Uber Pass membership if you have an Aeroplan credit card.
Here are the details of this new announcement between Uber and Aeroplan.
Link your Aeroplan and Uber accounts to earn points
To earn Aeroplan points with this new partnership, you’ll first need to link your Aeroplan and Uber accounts.
From your Aeroplan account:
- Click on “My Aeroplan”
- Under the “Everyday Earning” section, click on either the Uber or Uber Eats logo
- Next click the Link Now button
- This will bring up a QR code which you can scan with your smartphone camera to link your accounts.
If that doesn’t work, you can then open the Uber or Uber Eats app on your smartphone, and go to “Account” and scroll down to Aeroplan. Tap “Link account” and then sign into your Aeroplan account to finish the process.
Once your accounts are linked, you’ll start to earn Aeroplan points on qualifying Uber Eats orders and Uber rides.
Earn Aeroplan Points on Uber Eats Orders
Once you’ve linked your Aeroplan and Uber Eats accounts, you’ll then earn 1 Aeroplan point per dollar spent on Uber Eats orders over $25 (before promotions and discounts, excluding taxes, fees, and tips).
Plus, new Uber Eats users get an extra 1,000 Aeroplan points for their first order!
Note that Uber Eats grocery orders, as well as select regulated items (like alcohol) are excluded from earning Aeroplan points.
Earn Aeroplan Points on Uber Rides
Also, Aeroplan members can earn points with the following Uber rides:
- 1 Aeroplan point per $1 spent on Uber Premium Rides (UberXL, Uber Comfort, Uber Black, Uber Select, etc.) throughout Canada and the United States.
- 1 Aeroplan point per $1 spent on Uber Airport Rides to or from an airport in Canada or the United States.
- 2 Aeroplan points per $1 spent on Uber Premium Airport Rides in Canada and the United States.
Additionally, every time Aeroplan members take 10 Uber rides (excluding Uber Pool) in Canada or the U.S., they’ll receive a $20 Air Canada flight credit (for round-trip bookings) deposited into their Aeroplan account. Aeroplan members can redeem this flight credit for themselves or for another passenger’s booking.
Plus, new Uber riders will get an extra 1,000 Aeroplan points for their first Uber ride (excluding UberPool)!
Note that regular Uber airport rides and all Uber rides outside of Canada and the United States, do not earn any Aeroplan points.
Summary
Aeroplan and Uber Canada have teamed up so that members can earn Aeroplan points with their Uber activities. From now on, members can earn Aeroplan points on their Uber Eats orders (over $25) and select Uber Rides (Premium rides and to/from a Canadian or US airport).
Also, new Uber users can earn 1,000 points on their first Uber Eats order and their first Uber ride (excluding UberPool).
