Ampli by Avion Rewards is a cash back app that rewards Canadians for their everyday purchases at participating stores. This review of the Ampli app will highlight all the details you need to know about this cash back app.

The Ampli app launched in the summer of 2019 with support from RBC Ventures.
How does Ampli work?
Basically, you need to sign up for Ampli on your smartphone and then securely link your bank card(s) to the app. Then, every time you make a purchase with your linked card at select merchants, you’ll earn cash back!
Some featured retailers include DoorDash, WestJet, The Keg, Boston Pizza, Indigo.ca and Rexall.
Offers vary all the time but generally Ampli will offer somewhere between 1% and 10% cash back on purchases with participating retailers. For example, Ampli had a previous offer of 10% cash back with DoorDash orders.
In my case, I’ve earned more than $25 in cash back with Ampli just by shopping with partner retailers!

Once you’ve downloaded the app, create an account with your basic personal info like email, phone & postal code.
Connect your bank cards to Ampli
Next, you’ll have to link your debit/credit cards to your account.
The reason for linking your bank cards to the app is to keep track of your transactions with Ampli partners. Once you make a qualifying purchase with a partner, Ampli will automatically credit you the cash back in about 3-5 days.
Also, some financial institutions aren’t shown on the connect a card screen (like Amex). Instead, try using the “search” function to find and connect with your Canadian bank.
Plus, if you connect an RBC card to Ampli, you’ll be eligible for extra cash back with select retailers. For example, Ampli had an offer for an additional 1% cash back for purchases at Rexall with a linked RBC card.
Also, Ampli use top encryption tech to protect your data. Plus, it doesn’t get access to your bank account or login credentials so Ampli can’t withdraw any money from your account.
How to redeem your Ampli cash back
A great feature of Ampli by Avion Rewards is that the cash back you earn will never expire as long as you have a valid account.
Plus, Ampli make it easy to redeem your cash back for free by sending you an Interac e-Transfer. This will be sent to the email you registered for Ampli with.
Just keep in mind that the minimum payout threshold is $15.
To start redeeming your cash back follow these steps:
- Tap the Cash out button at the bottom of the app to view your total balance.
- Then click the “Transfer” button.
- Next, you’ll need to create a security question and answer for your Interac e-Transfer.
- Finally, deposit your cash back to your bank account.
Note that Ampli mentions it may take up to 5 days to receive the transfer but it’s usually much faster.
And, if you have any difficulties with your transfer, you can contact Ampli via the in-app chat. The Ampli support team is available Monday to Friday between 8 am and 4 pm EST.
Summary
Overall, Ampli by Avion Rewards is a great app that lets you earn cash back with your purchases. There are many offers with participating Canadian retailers including Rexall, Indigo.ca and DoorDash.
It’s easy to sign up for Ampli and to link your debit/credit cards to the app. Plus, RBC card holders can earn additional cash back with select retailers!
Once you’ve reached a min of $15 cash back, you can then request to cash out your money. Create some security questions on the app and Ampli will send you an Interac e-Transfer to deposit to your bank account.
