Marriott Bonvoy has just released a new limited-time promotion called “Week of Wonders” for it’s members. This promotion might be of interest for anyone with upcoming hotel stays during the month of October and November.
Marriott’s “Week of Wonders” is actually multiple offers which include:
- 50% bonus for buying Marriott Bonvoy points until October 22, 2020
- 2,500 bonus points on paid stays until October 18, 2020
- Free night when you book a stay via Homes & Villas by Marriott Intentional
- 30% off of items purchased from the Marriott store until October 15, 2020.
But by far, the best offer of this promotion is the award night sale for all Marriott hotels worldwide.
Off-peak prices at all Marriott hotels
Marriott hotel bookings made between now and October 15, 2020, for stays until November 30, 2020, will be bookable using points at the off-peak price!
As a reminder, the Marriott Bonvoy reward chart is based on 8 categories with off-peak, standard and peak pricing.
Each Marriott hotel is assigned to a particular category. So, the number of points required for a free hotel night will vary depending on occupancy and the time of year.
Here is the Marriott Bonvoy hotel redemption chart.
Thus, under this Week of Wonders promotion, the price for all Marriott hotel stays (until November 30, 2020) would be found under the off-peak column.
Category 1 hotels only cost 5,000 points/night
This means a category 1 hotel would only cost 5,000 points/night and a category 8 hotel would cost 70,000 points/night.
For example, the TownePlace Suites hotel in Petawawa, Ontario is a category 1 hotel (one of the few in Eastern Canada). During this promotion, it would only cost a remarkably low 5,000 points for any night in October and November 2020.
Add in Marriott’s 5th night free benefit and you could stay for 5 nights at this hotel for only 20,000 points! This is exactly what I did when I last stayed at this hotel last July so check out my full review of the TownePlace Suites Petawawa.
Also, this promotion is also valid for higher category hotels . Generally, most Marriott properties located in downtown urban centres or near airports are category 5 hotels.
For example, the Sheraton Gateway hotel, located beside Terminal 3 of the Toronto International Airport, would only cost 30,000 points per night during this promotion! This is definitely better than paying between the regular cash rates of $179 and $202 per night.
Summary
There are many offers available with Marriott’s “Week of Wonders” promotion. Certainly, the best offer for members would be off-peak pricing at all Marriott hotels worldwide for stays until November 30, 2020. Generally, this means that members save a minimum of 33% when redeeming their points for hotel stays.
For Canadians with any upcoming domestic travel plans, this could be a great opportunity to save on their stay at any one of the 261 Marriott properties in Canada.
But hurry, this Marriott off-peak pricing promotion is valid until October 15, 2020!
